Caroline Jenkins Henry, 79, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday night, March 8, 2014, at the home of her son in Delano.
She was born in Lancaster, S.C. on Oct. 30, 1934, a daughter of the late Benny and Wilma Jenkins.
She has made Cleveland her home for more than 21 years moving here from South Carolina. She was a member of Michigan Avenue Church of God, where she was very active until her declining health. She enjoyed reading her Bible and sharing her faith with those with whom she came in contact.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons: Billy Henry and Benji Henry; two sisters: Louise Player and Bobby Pearson; and three brothers: Gerald Jenkins, Jimmy Jenkins and Tommie Jenkins.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory one son, Tim Henry of Delano; two grandchildren: Lacy Lemley and her husband, Landon, and Jordan Henry; one sister, Leitha Twitty; one brother, Donald Jenkins; and several other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life is planned for 7 tonight, March 11, 2014, at Michigan Avenue Church of God, 515 Minnis Road S.E., in Cleveland, with Pastor David Boles officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church tonight from 5 until the service time.
Family and friends will meet in the Benton Memorial Gardens in Benton on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. for interment and committal service.
