Ashleigh Rogers and Nathan Cates, both of Benton, were united in marriage at Lee University on April 27, 2013.

The bride is the daughter of Tim and Sheila Rogers of Benton. She is the granddaughter of the late Woodrow and Robbie Rogers and the late James and Betty Jo Rogers.

The bridegroom is the son of Tony and Kim Cates of Benton. He is the grandson of Louise Jones of Reliance, the late Rev. Frank Jones and the late Eugene and Madglene Cates.

The noon ceremony was officiated by Phil Griffin, pastor of The Church at Gracepoint, where they both attend. Nuptial music was provided by Alan Wyatt Jazz Band and the bride’s brother, Daniel Rogers of Bellevue, Wash., vocalist.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father and attended by the bridegroom’s sister, Erin Cates of Benton, as maid of honor. The bride’s sister-in-law, Jacqueline Rogers of Bellevue, was bridesmaid. Junior bridesmaid was the bridegroom’s cousin, Tuesday Queen of Englewood.

The bridegroom’s father served him as best man. Groomsmen included Joseph Burchfield of Benton and his cousin, Bryan Martin of Englewood.

The reception was given by the parents of the bride in the Lee University Centenary Room.

For their wedding trip, the couple toured England and Scotland in June.

Mr. and Mrs. Cates are both 2007 graduates of Polk County High School. Mrs. Cates is a 2011 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is employed by Memorial Hospital and SkyRidge Medical Center. Mr. Cates is a 2011 graduate of Lee University. He is employed by Hamilton County Schools at Tyner Academy.
