Who benefits from Chair-ries Jubilee?

It is a fundraising event sponsored each year by the Allied Arts Council of The Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce. The funds raised at this event go back into our schools in the form of teacher grants or visiting artists.

The April 12 event will be the 15th Chair-ries Jubilee. The fundraiser began in 1999. Since that time, this event has put more than $300,000 back into our schools for the arts.

Most schools which benefit donate items to Chair-ries Jubilee. For example, one of Robin Russell’s art classes will be decorating the pieces that she picked up at the last artist giveaway. They will look totally different from what you see in this picture. The students use their imagination and creativity to really decorate these chairs that will be for sale during the auction.

Many local artists and craftsman support Chair-ries Jubilee with their furniture donations. You don’t have to donate a chair. You may decorate and donate any items, from pottery to quilts to toy chests to headboards for beds, and all things in between.

“The name of the event — Chair-ries Jubilee — just tells our history as we started with just decorated chairs, but have added more,” said the event’s Nancy Casson.

Need a unique piece of furniture for a special place in your home? This is a great opportunity to shop and get some really good bargains plus have a wonderful time.

Chair-ries Jubilee 2013 3D will be held April 12 at The Museum Center at Five Points. Tickets for the event are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Tickets are on sale now at the Chamber of Commerce and at The Red Ribbon. For more information, you may contact Nancy Casson at 473-1114 or The Chamber 472-6587.
