Charles L. Chavis, 87, of Memphis and a former resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, Sept. 10, 2012.
He was a former vice president of manufacturing with Magic Chef.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Billie Chavis; and grandson, Clay Chavis.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane Chavis of Memphis; children: Chip Chavis of Cleveland, Dr. Tim Chavis of Newport, W.Va., and Lucy Rateau of Atlanta; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, in the chapel of Trezvant Manor in Memphis.
The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of one’s choice.
