Charles Lee Pritchard, 86, a resident of Fort Myers, Fla., and formerly of Cleveland, passed away at his home, Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013.
He was born in Cleveland on Feb. 7, 1927, a son of the late Carl and Christine Pritchard.
He made Cleveland his home until he relocated to Fort Myers in 1952 leaving Cleveland to join friends working at the Snack House in downtown Fort Myers. He later became a rural mail carrier for the Untied States Postal Service and retired from the Postal Service in 1994.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Hoyt Pritchard.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 69 years, Lillie Burger Pritchard; one daughter, Janice Maupin and husband, Larry, of Orange Park, Fla.; one son, Phillip Pritchard and his wife, Bevalie, of Longwood, Fla.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Stuart Park Baptist Church, 850 17th Street with the Rev. Kevin Mendel officiating.
Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Keith Pritchard, Brian Pritchard, Justin Maupin, Kyle Pritchard, Phillip Pritchard and Larry Maupin serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. service time.
