City of Charleston Chief of Police John "Hank" Hayden was recently honored with a Certificate of Long Service from the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators, in recognition and gratitude for 25 years of continuous membership and contribution to their endeavors.

Chief Hayden received the honor from Lance Connors, Region VI IABTI director, in the form of a letter and certificate.

Hayden has served as police chief of Charleston for the last nine years and was previously a police officer for 30 years in Chattanooga, with 17 years as a lieutenant for the Bomb Squad.

"It is an honor to be granted such an important acknowledgement from the association and it has been my pleasure to be a part of this association," Hayden said.
