Chester Ray Barbee, 53, a lifetime resident of Harrison, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at his residence.
He was employed with Maytag. He liked to hunt and fish in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Lee Barbee; son, Jeffrey Allen Barbee; sister, Brenda Gail Barbee; and brother, Charlie Barbee.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Barbee, of Harrison; mother, Virginia Beatrice Harden Barbee of Harrison; four children: Billy Barbee of Harrison, David Lee Barbee of Cleveland, Jacob Cook and Destiny Wilbanks, both of Harrison; four grandchildren: Abby and Tyler Elliott, both of Birchwood, David and Caitlyn Barbee, both of Cleveland; four sisters: Carolyn Monds of Harrison, Patricia Harrison of Rossville, Ga., Donna Parks of Chattanooga, and Linda Giamportone of Harrison; one brother, Randall Lee Barbee of Harrsion; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at noon, Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Davis officiating.
Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery with Joe Norman, Jerry Norman, John Wayne Monds and Toby Barbee. Eddie Harrison, John Henry Knight and Bunkie Sims will serve as pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends today and Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
