In commemoration of the 210th year of Vann Plantation and the 56th anniversary of the Vann House restoration, the staff and the Friends of the Vann House will sponsor Vann House Days on July 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Saturday festivities will again feature the traditional living history demonstrations that have characterized this special program for more than three decades.

Craftspeople will demonstrate 19th century music, weaving, basket making, quilting, spinning, blacksmithing, blowgun shooting, woodworking and much more.

The Vann House museum will feature a short film and interpretive exhibits on the Vann family and the Cherokee Nation.

Staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide tours through the Vann House, the Cherokee homestead and support buildings.

Regular admission prices will be charged ($6 for adults, $5.50 for senior, and $4 for youth ages 6-17).

The Friends of the Vann House will also have concessions, publications and souvenirs available for purchase.

The Chief Vann House is located three miles west of Chatsworth, Ga., at the intersection of Ga. Highway 52A and 225.
