Christmas Parade entry deadline is Nov. 18

The deadline for the annual Christmas parade float entry is fast approaching. The parade is set for Dec. 3 and is one of Cleveland’s largest events for community participation whether as an observer or participant.

Entries are now being accepted for the MainStreet Cleveland annual Christmas Parade set for Saturday, Dec. 3, beginning at 6 p.m. The annual Christmas parade is one of Cleveland longest running holiday traditions. The festive evening averages more than 150 entries with many beautiful floats and thousands of lights.

The deadline for parade entries to be turned in to the MainStreet office is Friday, Nov. 18, at 4 p.m. After this date, a late fee will be applied.

The final date to turn in applications is by noon on Tuesday, Nov. 29, according to Sharon Marr, executive director of MainStreet Cleveland.

Departing from Bradley Central High School, the parade will travel north on Highway 11(South Lee Highway), east on 3rd Street, north on Ocoee Street, around the monument, south on Broad Street, west on Inman Street, south on Highway 11 and then back to the high school.

Prior to the parade, the Downtown Christmas Tree Lighting and Reverse Caroling as well as Santa and Mrs. Claus’ visit will happen at 6 p.m. Friday Dec. 2, at the Courthouse Annex and around the Courthouse Square.

The City and County mayors will help light the city’s officials Christmas tree. Carolers will travel church to church in the downtown area and Santa will be available to take the childrens wish list.
