Christopher Holt is new Air Force recruiter

Staff Sgt. Christopher Holt has been assigned to the Air Force Recruiting Office, located at 4444 Frontage Road in Cleveland.

As an Air Force recruiter, Holt is responsible for recruiting qualified people for the Air Force in Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Polk and Rhea counties in Tennessee. He is also responsible for Fannin, Gilmer, Townes and Union counties in Georgia.

Holt is a recent graduate of the Air Force Recruiting School in San Antonio, where he was trained in various areas of study, including the job classification system, testing, enlistment processing procedures and public speaking.

He was selected for the special course and recruiting duty as a volunteer with an outstanding Air Force record.

Prior to his assignment in Cleveland, Holt was assigned to Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany as an aerospace ground equipment technician.

He was stationed at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea and Moody Air Base in Valdosta, Ga.

Austin L. Silvers

Air Force Airman 1st Class Austin L. Silvers graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Silvers is the son of Scott and Sharon Silvers of Old Fort.

He is a 2006 graduate of Polk County High School, Benton. He earned a bachelor's degree in 2011 from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
