Eric Spencer asked to remove his request to rezone property at 1109 Park Avenue from Single-Family Residential (R-1 to R-2) Low Density Single- and Multi-Family Residential. Spencer pulled the request in the face of unexpected opposition from neighbors who want to keep the neighborhood’s residential identity. Neighbors also expressed concern for property values.
Commissioners approved a request by Lois Davila to rezone property at 775 Gaut St. from Heavy Industrial (IH to R-3) Multi-Family Residential by a 9-0 vote.
A request by Jim Workman to rezone property on Georgetown Road (lot 4 of Candies Creek Crossing) from General Commercial (CG to CH) Highway Commercial for a billboard was approved. The billboard currently exists on the property recently purchased by Cleveland City Schools and must be removed from that location. The vote was 9-0.
Commissioners also unanimously approved a request by Beverly Crigger and Deborah Evans to rezone roughly 6.7 acres at 4025 Georgetown Road from R-1 to CG. The property is located on the west side of Georgetown Road and slightly south of the traffic signal at Paul Huff Parkway. Crigger and Evans are co-executors of an estate. Property to the north and property on the east side of Georgetown Road is zoned CG. Also, there is interest in developing a gas station on the southeast corner of Georgetown and Paul Huff Parkway.
Commissioners approved the following consent agenda items by a vote of 8-0-1. At-Large City Councilman George Poe abstained due to a conflict of interest.
- A request by Michael J. Shaver for final approval of a four-lot townhome development, lot 26 of Villa Property, located on Campbell Bridge Road.
- A request by JRT Communities for final approval of re-subdivision of lots 7-11 of Timber Creek.
