Artfully crafted by June Spratlin and constructed from colorful fabrics, there are no two exactly alike. Thelma Swafford will highlight the spirit of the holiday season with her talented contributions to the open house and her longtime association with the guild. Her creations are various and include whimsical angels, victorian Santas and well-dressed snow men, according to Dale Dotson, president of the Cleveland Creative Arts Guild.
With her expertise, Swafford repurposes antique quilts to become soft sculpture in the form of miniature stockings or delightful birds. Her imagination allows her to take burlap and transform the fabric into a decoration of a cat, wreath or birdhouse. There will be door prizes and refreshments.
