A resurgence of the Church Hymnal is being found in the church community.

Well-attended Red Back Hymnal singings are taking place all over the South. First Baptist Church of Cleveland will hod a Red Back Hymnal singing on Sunday at 6 p.m.

There will be a couple of guests for the program. Ben Speer, the last remaining working member of the Singing Speer Family, will be coming from Nashville. Gene North, well-known and well-loved by the Cleveland community will be singing and playing his saxophone.

There will be an all-volunteer choir in the choir loft. There will be several good directors, including Tom Wickes, Roger “Butch” DeVaughn, Mary Beth Wicke, Jack Clark and Seth Gregory. Tyler Brinson will be playing the grand piano along with a number of assisting musicians.

All singers are invited to be a part of the choir. Please come a little order to claim a seat.

Pastors Jim Gibson and Alan Lockerman will be sharing program responsibilities with Max Morris, director of His Hands Extended and World Wife Prayer Partners.
