“Hello, Dolly!” is being directed by Shirley Pace and technical director Don Markham.
“I’ve been waiting years to have the right combination of young ladies and men to do the musical ‘Hello, Dolly!’” Pace said. “Some years I had the men, some years [I’ve had] the ladies, but this year we have both! You won’t be disappointed in this musical comedy. It’s great fun for the whole family.”
The musical is about Dolly Levi (played by Nora Swindle), a brassy widow who makes a living by what she calls “meddling” — matchmaking and numerous sidelines. She is currently seeking a wife for grumpy Horace Vandergelder (played by Mark Smith), the well-known half-a-millionaire, but it becomes clear that Dolly intends to marry Horace herself. In doing so, she convinces his niece (Hannah Hicks), his niece’s intended (Forrest Fuller) and Horace’s two clerks to travel to New York City.
Performance times are March 7, 8, 9 and 11 at 7 p.m. and March 10 at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens.
