The event is open to the public.
The auction, an annual program of the local civic club, raises money to be awarded to nonprofit organizations in Cleveland and Bradley County. Among the groups that received funds in 2012 were the Boys & Girls Clubs, The Caring Place, the Hiwassee Heritage Center, Trousdale School, Bradley County Adult Education, and others.
“We invite guests to join club members and others to savor a Valentine’s dinner, enjoy the entertainment, and have the opportunity to bid on exotic gifts as well as practical items,” said Hazel Key, a member of the planning committee.
The event features a sumptuous meal, musical entertainment and the auctions. Guests will have the chance to view dozens of items, donated by Rotarians and friends, and bid for them, some by open-outcry and some by written bids. More than 100 items will be auctioned and are expected to attract purchase prices from a few dollars up to hundreds.
Inquiries about tickets may be directed to Carmin Chastain at 303-1516 (work) or 716-8713 (cellphone). Guests are invited to wear casual evening dress.
