If these benefits sound good to you, you may be a candidate for the Dual Admission Program between Cleveland State Community College and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
The dual admission program is designed for students who plan to earn a transfer degree from Cleveland State and a bachelor’s degree from UTC.
“This Dual Admission Program is just another milestone in our continuing efforts to foster students’ academic success by guaranteeing an easy transition from Cleveland State’s associate degree to UTC’s bachelor’s degree program,” states Cleveland State president Dr. Carl Hite.
CSCC students who fulfill the requirements for dual admission are guaranteed acceptance to UTC with full junior standing and will also enjoy other advantages such as having direct contact with both CSCC and UTC faculty and staff throughout their tenure in the program and being able to participate in opportunities for educational enrichment at UTC.
Students who are eligible for this program include those who meet current admission criteria at both Cleveland State and UTC, those who plan to attend CSCC or who transfer to CSCC with no more than 30 college-level semester hours, students currently enrolled at CSCC who have less than 30 transferable hours and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 and those who intend to major in one of the articulated baccalaureate programs at UTC.
Once enrolled in the dual-admission program, a student must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Additionally, to transfer to UTC, a student must have earned an associate of science, associate of arts or associate of science technology degree.
“UTC greatly values its long relationship with Cleveland State, and we welcome this new step in that partnership. I believe this dual admission agreement will provide better service for students as they pursue educations at both campuses, and I expect this to become a model agreement to be implemented in the near future between UTC and all two-year campuses,” said UTC Chancellor Roger Brown.
