Courtney Sloane Phillips became the bride of James Richard Cogdill, both of Cleveland, in a morning ceremony on May 28, 2011, in Destin, Fla.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max Phillips of Cleveland. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jack Adams of Cleveland, the late Dr. Jack Adams, Samye Jean Sloan of Cleveland and the late Guye Taylor Phillips.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cogdill of Cleveland. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Kelly of Dunlap, the late Richard Jefferson Cogdill and the late Gladys Verble Cogdill.

The wedding was officiated by the Rev. Dr. Joel Huffstettler of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Nuptial music was presented by violinists Dr. and Mrs. Larry Tyson of Destin.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Tiffany Taylor of Chattanooga as maid of honor.

The bridegroom’s father served him as best man.

The reception was given by the bride’s parents at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. Savannah Lee and Abigail Lee, both of Birmingham, Ala., attended the bride’s book.

After a wedding trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Cogdill are at home in Knoxville.
