Berry College

ROME, Ga. — Two local students were named to the Fall 2013 dean's list at Berry College.

Earning the academic honor last semester were Megan Bryson and Aaron Chastain, who both hail from Cleveland.

To be eligible for Berry’s dean's list, a student must carry a semester GPA of 3.5 or better.

Berry College is an independent, co-educational college located on a campus encompassing more than 26,000 acres near Rome, Ga. Berry challenges its student body, consisting of more than 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students, to embrace a firsthand education that unites strong academic programs with opportunities for meaningful work experience, spiritual and moral growth and significant service to others.

Freed-Hardeman University

HENDERSON — A local student has been recognized by Freed-Hardeman University for academic achievement during the 2013 fall semester.

Grace Gardner of Cleveland has been named to the university’s most recent dean's list.

Gardner is a junior majoring in child and family studies.

Inclusion on the dean's list requires maintaining a minimum grade-point average of 3.4 for the semester, as well as full-time status.

Freed-Hardeman is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to offer baccalaureate and master's degrees. Perennially ranked in the region's top tier by U.S. News & World Report magazine, FHU offers an education within a Christian environment.

Southwest Baptist University

BOLIVAR, Mo. — Southwest Baptist University has released its honor roll lists from the fall 2013 semester, and one local student earned a spot on one of them.

Jessica Betts of Cleveland was named to the university’s trustee’s list.

To be listed on the semester's honor roll, students must carry at least 12 hours of college work and earn at least a B (3.00 GPA), with no grade below a C.

Trustees’ list students earn GPAs from 3.85 to 4.00, while president's list students earn GPAs of between 3.70 and 3.84. Deans’ list students earn between 3.50 and 3.69, and honor's list students earn from 3.00 to 3.40.
