She was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Guntersville, Ala.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 32 years, John Shaw; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Karren Smith of Albertville, Ala; two stepchildren: Mary Alice Shipp of Nashville and Greg Shaw of Rossville, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her best friend, Brenda Boling.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from 5 to 7 p.m., in the parlor of Companion Funeral & Cremation Service.
A graveside service will be held at Chattanooga National Cemetery on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at 11:30 a.m.
