EVENSVILLE — As the Tennessee Golf Association Junior Tour enters the halfway point of its season, local golfers crossed over the Tennessee River to compete at the Dayton Golf and Country Club Wednesday.
In the Boys 10-13 Tour, Torr Coulthard finished second after shooting a 47 and coming in 11 over par. Seth Neighbors came in directly behind Coulthard, with his total of 61 earning him third place.
Luke Neighbors shot a 60, which gave him a fourth place finish in the Boys 10-11 Micro competition.
In the nine-hole competition for the Girls 12-18 Tour, Kiana Hooper finished sixth after shooting a 63, while Mattea Hooper finished in eighth place with a total of 72.
Last week in a two-day TM Championship at the Willow Creek Golf Club in Knoxville, 10-year-old Kyndall Shamblin earned a third-place finish in the Girls 15-under Masters Division.
After shooting a 92 in the opening round, the Prospect Elementary student trimmed five strokes off her score with an 87 on the final 18 holes. Shamblin’s 179 was 11 strokes off the mark set by Knoxville’s Shelby Lipford, who improved from an 89 the first day to a 79 on the second.
The TGA Tour event that was rained out at the Cleveland Country Club earlier this week could not be rescheduled, and therefore has been cancelled.
