Parents interested in enrolling their students in kindergarten within the Bradley County school system this fall will soon have the chance to learn more about the schools their children will be attending.

On Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m., each county elementary school will be hosting an event called “Kindergarten Rocks.”

During the event, parents and future kindergarten students can tour their school, see which classrooms they might be learning in and meet the school’s kindergarten teachers.

During the event, parents will also have the opportunity to take part in early kindergarten registration for the fall semester.

While there will be other opportunities for registration up until classes begin in the fall, Laura Peterson of the Bradley County Schools office of instruction said early registration helps schools better plan for the year and ensure there are enough supplies like books to go around on the very first day.

For more information about the upcoming kindergarten registration events, call the school for which the child is zoned:

- Black Fox Elementary at 478-8800;
