Bradley County’s building permits for the month of October represented nearly $2 million worth of construction projects and nearly $6,000 in permit fee revenue.

While there was only one commercial project, it was a big month for new home constructions, remodeling projects and new property additions of things like barns and mobile homes.

The sole commercial building permit was one for VR & L Rentals at 2889 Waterlevel Highway. The construction was estimated to be valued at $368,804, giving the county $891 in permit fees.

Eleven new single-family homes were constructed, adding up to an estimated value of $1,451,000 and $4,507 in permit fees. One multi-family home estimated at $50,000 in construction value required $186 in permit fees.

Three double-wide homes totaled $164,000 in estimated construction values and $150 in permit fees, and five mobile homes accounted for $250 in fees for projects valued at $77,760.

Three residential additions and three remodeling projects added up to $397 in permit fees for $82,950 in projects.

Two garages, three barns, two campers and an outside storage building represented the last $157,000 worth of permits, with $777 in fees paid to the county.

The month’s building permits gave way to projects valued at $1,982,710 and added $5,984 to the county’s coffers.
