Officials have released the identity of the woman who was pronounced dead Wednesday morning after she was involved in a car crash on Dry Valley Road.

She became Bradley County’s first traffic-related fatality reported this year.

Jackie W. Pritchett, 75, was the driver of the car which left the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned, possibly ejecting her, according to initial reports from Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper Philip Reagan.

Stan Clark of Bradley County Emergency Medical Service said the vehicle was approximately 30 feet off the roadway on its top. It was not known how long it had been since the crash occurred. Bradley County 911 reports noted a motorist spotted the vehicle in a field and notified officials at 5:22 a.m.

Reagan is in charge of the crash investigation and according to his initial observation, Pritchett’s vehicle left the roadway as she was southbound and struck an embankment on the northbound side of the roadway, causing the car to overturn several times.

Reagan believed the woman was not properly restrained prior to the crash because she was ejected from her car.

Bradley County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted CPR on the victim.

EMS paramedics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead, according to the report.
