According to initial reports, Burnette was trapped inside his car after the impact near the intersection of Westland Drive.
Burnette suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center.
Davis was not injured.
According to officer Justin Maples’ initial crash investigation report, Davis is a resident of Athens. The name of the trucking company he works for was not available.
Burnette is reportedly a Cleveland resident.
According to West, who cited Maples’ report, witnesses indicated they observed Burnette traveling a high rate of speed, switching lanes, then striking the truck.
Investigation is continuing.
