Cultural arts winners Brenda Park Derryberry, left, and Phyllis Narus, right, were recognized at the Eastern Region Family and Community Education Club fall conference held at the Rothchild Conference Center in Knoxville. They are eligible to complete at the state FCE competition in Franklin in November. Narus received first place in three categories, including weaving/loom, knitting/hand and rug making, with her crocheted item placing second. Derryberry’s weaving/loom item placed second in the competition. Jean Cross won second place with her creative writing entry.
