David Ray “Wooly” Woolridge, 51, a resident of Cleveland, formerly of Roanoke, Va, passed away Tuesday afternoon, June 22, 2010, in a Chattanooga hospital.

He was the son of the late Mary Dunbar Woolridge and Robert Edward Woolridge. He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Emma Jean Miller, Bonnie Hatcher; and his brother, George Woolridge.

He had been employed for Whirpool in Cleveland for more than 23 years.

He had lots of friends and was loved by many. He loved country music and helping people and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Leigh Anne Forshee and her husband, Eugene, of Delano; sisters: Margaret Miller, Connie Collins, Alice Grable and her husband, James; his twin sister, Mamie Van lew and her husband, David, Nancy Dickerson and her husband, David, and Sally Belcher, all of Virginia; brothers: Robert “Buck” Woolridge Jr and Harry Woolridge, all from Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, with Pastor David Thompson officiating.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at Jeters Chapel Baptist Church in Vinton, Va.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 this evening at the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes.
