She was of the Baptist faith.
She was the daughter of the late Harold C. Sanders and Dora Mae Williamson Sanders. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Walter McCartt Sr., who passed away on Jan. 2, 2000; her son, Arnold McCartt Jr.; and great-granddaughter, Kairi Anna McCartt.
Survivors include her children: Sandra Richmond and husband, Troy, and Andra Pippenger and husband, Terry, all of Cleveland; daughters-in-law: Darla Rives and Meghan Boles, both of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Danica Pippenger and (Artie Hanes), Ryan McCartt and wife, (Chastity McCartt), David McCartt and (fiancée Meagan Thomas) and Alex McCartt; six great-grandchildren: Jackson Hanes, Ryley McCartt, Malorie Lawson, Alexis McCartt, Chris Thomas and Jared Edenfield; five brothers: Clayton Sanders of Ten Mile, Wilbur Sanders of Waterloo, Ind., Boyce Sanders of Williamsburg, Ohio, Ray Sanders of Knoxville and Bill Sanders of Tacoma, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Minister Steve Hall officiating.
Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
The family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Richmond and Terry Pippenger.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
