Michael DelBonis has been named director of Lee University’s touring drama ministry group Kingdom Players. This post is within the school’s enrollment sector where DelBonis worked as an admissions counselor for almost three years.

“We are thrilled that Michael has decided to return to Lee,” said Vice President for Enrollment Phil Cook. “We look forward to planning a busy and exciting year of drama ministry and recruitment.”

DelBonis brings with him 17 years of experience in drama ministry. He has served as an adjudicator for the Church of God Teen Talent at state competitions and at the international level. He has also led drama teams to international championships on multiple occasions.

DelBonis has spent the last three and a half years as the associate youth pastor at Mount Olive Church of God.

Prior to entering full-time youth ministry, DelBonis was accepted into the School for Film & Television in New York City, but chose to pursue ministry instead.

“I am excited about the opportunity to be a part of such an outstanding ministry with a great group of students,” said DelBonis.

“I am also thrilled to be back with the Lee University family in this capacity, and I am ready to hit the ground running when the school year begins.”

The Kingdom Players presents exciting, humorous, and dramatic skits based on the Bible. Audiences are inspired and refreshed as the actors bring the message of God's Word to life. The skits cover a broad range of topics, including prayer, commitment to God, and unforgiveness. Some draw out inconsistencies that exist in people's lives and encourage them to change; others vividly portray Biblical characters, incidents, or stories.

In addition to directing Kingdom Players, DelBonis will work on special recruitment projects out of the Office of Enrollment. He also serves as a faculty member in Lee’s Division of Adult Learning.

DelBonis received his master’s degree in youth and family ministry and his bachelor’s degree in business from Lee University.

His wife Katie is a counselor at Chattanooga Central High School, and they have one daughter, Lucy.
