Brenda Devonnia Carroll, 69, of Hixson, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, with her husband at her side.

She was born Feb. 9, 1944, in Rossville, Ga., the daughter of the late George David and Beatrice (Gray) Hayes. She was raised in Rossville but had lived in Hixson for the last 30 years.

She was a 1962 graduate of Rossville High School and a graduate of the Saint Louis College of Cosmetology. She was foremost a pastor’s wife and was employed by Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga for the past 17 years. She had many hobbies, such as needlepoint, ceramics, and reading. She was a member of Dayton Family Worship Center where she loved to sing and teach the Bible. She also worked in youth camps for many years.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Bishop Bob Carroll of Hixson, son, David Shane (Deborah) Carroll of Dayton; her daughter, DeDra Montea Carroll of Hixson; and her grandchildren, Christian, Braden, Addison, Robby, Gavin and Kayla.

The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 11, 2013, at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop William Coile and the Rev. Audie May officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens.
