Dolly Rutledge Farnell, 75, a resident of Ooltewah, passed away Friday, March 21, 2014, at the family residence.

She was the daughter of the late Sally McKinney Salisbury and Dewey Salisbury. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Jane Rutledge; brothers: Jack Salisbury, Earl Stevens, Jim Salisbury, and Charlie Salisbury; and one sister, Hazel Kenny.

She was a loyal member of TBN Christian Station and a member of Leukemia Research Society. She loved shopping mail order and being with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Philadelphia First Baptist Church in Hixson. She was a retired registered nurse after working in various doctor’s offices.

Survivors include her children: Thomas F. “Tommy” Rutledge Jr. of Ooltewah, Timothy W. “Tim” Rutledge Sr. and his wife, Annette, of Cleveland and Jennifer Mitchell and her husband, William, of Dadeville, Ala.; grandchildren: Enis C. Higgs Jr. and his wife, Mistie, Tiffany L. Mitchell, Timothy Rutledge Jr., Chris Rutledge, Ashley Rutledge, and Brandon A. Rutledge; great-grandchildren: Kassidi B. Higgs, Owen B. Higgs, Carli D. Higgs, Autum Rutledge, and Isabella Rutledge; sister, Betty Summers and her husband, Harold, of Mann, W. Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. from the Wildwood Avenue Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeremy Fincher officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Tim Rutledge Sr., Tommy Rutledge Jr., Tim Rutledge Jr., Chris Rutledge, Brandon Rutledge, and Enis Higgs serving as pallbearers.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 this evening.
