Donald C. Cavett, 74, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014, in a local hospital.
He was the son of the late Gladys and Albert Cavett. He was also preceded in death by his youngest son, Donnie Cavett; sisters: Barbara Cavett Austin and Betty Cavett Newton; and his best friend from childhood, Bill Mowery.
He was retired from Bendix Corporation and Combustion Engineering and was a member of the Cleveland Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. Before his illness he enjoyed hunting and four wheeling in the mountains, NASCAR races and vacations in Florida. He was a loving, kind and generous man.
He is survived by his sisters: Linda Cavett Keys and Debby Cavett Cameron; his companion of more than 20 years, Geneva Lowe; his daughter, Karen Cavett; his son, Ricky Cavett; the mother of his children, Patsy Trentham Cavett, all of Cleveland; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014, in Hilcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Ingram officiating.
The family requests that donations be made in memory of Mr. Cavett to Shriners Children Hospital, or to the local Shriners Organization.
