Dorothy Randolph Marr, 85, a lifelong resident of Bradley County, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in a Chattanooga health care facility.

She was the daughter of the late Geneva Samples Randolph and Mack Randolph. Her husband, Albert Marr Sr., also preceded her in death.

She was a 1946 graduate of Bradley Central High School. She enjoyed working in her yard and her flower garden. She was a faithful member of the North Cleveland Baptist Church, where she was privileged to serve in several positions. She was a member of the Sunshine Sunday School class, where she held different positions, and she was a council member of the Just Older Youth, “Joy.” She served as treasurer of the sanctuary choir and the nominating committee and as president for two years on the board of directors. She worked on the church directory, kitchen committee and the baptismal committee, and she served as a greeter in the welcome center at the church.

Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Sullivan; sons: Danny Marr Jr. and his wife Pamela, Bill Marr, and his companion, Laura Franklin, and David Marr and his wife, Sharon, all of Cleveland; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Eula Ratcliff of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life service will be conducted today, Dec. 26, 2013, at 3 p.m. from the North Cleveland Baptist Church with Dr. Jay McCluskey officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Garden with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, Keith Street Cleveland or to the North Cleveland Baptist Church, 2815 North Ocoee Street, Cleveland, TN 37311. The family will receive friends today from noon until 3 p.m. at the North Cleveland Baptist Church.

The North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of arrangements.
