Edward Cleo Hill, 89, died at his home in Fairhope, Ala., Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012.
He grew up in Cleveland, and after serving in the Army Air Force during World War II he worked as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic at Pensacola Naval Air Station for the remainder of his career, retiring to Fairhope in 1986.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Lorraine (Brown); parents, Bertha Jane Gee (Brown) and Oscar Cleo Hill; and stepfather, Milburn Chester Gee.
He is survived by two sons: Dale Edward Hill of Coal Township, Pa., and Joseph Benson Hill of Fairhope; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at Fairhope Colony Cemetery followed by a celebration of his life at his home, 157 Fels Ave., Fairhope. Officiating will be Father Gordon Milsted.
