Edward M. Hensley, 88, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, in a local hospital.
He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He retired from Georgia Pacific after many years of service. He attended Spring Place Church of God of Prophecy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Claudia Parker Hensley; and one grandchild.
Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Mae Hensley, of Cleveland; children: Ginger Weaver, Angela Holt and Johnny Hensley and wife, Wedgie, all of Cleveland; and grandchildren: Ryan Powers, Jenna Powers, Caleb Powers, Steven Hensley and John Hensley, all of Cleveland.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, in Chattanooga National Cemetery with the Rev. B.J. Miller officiating.
The service will conclude with military honors.
