He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mildred Catlett and Edmond Catlett; maternal grandfather, Ernest M. Callahan; aunt, Mary F. Callahan; uncle, John Catlett; and his great-grandfather, for whom he was named, Whitney Dance Renfro.
He was a roofer by trade and had previously been an employee at Cleveland Roofing Co. He was a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Melanie Curry Catlett, of Cleveland; two children: Emerald and Bryson Curry of Cleveland; mother, Cathleen Callahan of Athens; father, Donald Jules Catlett of Hixson; two brothers: Denny Edmond Catlett and Joshua Jules Catlett, both of Athens; grandparents: William Everett Queen and Bobbie Renfro Queen of Calhoun; father-in-law, Tim Curry; mother-in-law, Anita Brock; three brothers-in-law: Dustin Curry, Anthony Curry and Nick Curry, all of Cleveland; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Monday, from noon until 2 p.m. at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, Wildwood Avenue Chapel.
A Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Josh Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Calhoun Cemetery.
