The work will be completed between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
“During this work, there will be intermittent stoppages of traffic on I-75 and the exit ramps on both sides of the interstate. Tractor-trailer trucks (18-wheelers) will not be allowed to make left turns while this work is underway. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to traffic signs and message boards,” according to TDOT information.
Drivers are reminded that APD-40 south toward I-75 is one lane only until the end of the project.
“The designated right turn lane on APD-40 will be closed to allow the contractor to begin widening the roadway, and the I-75 northbound on-ramp is reduced to a 16-foot lane,” TDOT information stated.
Signs designating changes to the traffic pattern will be posted. Flaggers with the assistance of Tennessee Highway Patrol will direct traffic as needed.
