For just $7, you can attend Fighting MD with Fashion, a fashion-themed fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy to be held on May 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Northside Presybterian Church in Cleveland.
In memory of church member Cheryl D. Lewis, who had limb-girdle muscular dystrophy and died in 2007, the event will feature clothing and jewelry fashion shows by Lace Emporium and Clay Divas Design.
Becky Bumgardner, Mary Kay independent beauty consultant, will provide a cosmetics demonstration, and several vendors will feature fashion, beauty and home decor product displays. The women of the church will also hold a bake sale during the event.
Adult admission is $7, and children under 12 can attend for free. Attendees can register for door prizes that include a gift card to TJMaxx, a gift card to JCPenney, cosmetics from Mary Kay and much more.
One hundred percent of the admission and bake sale proceeds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
MDA is a dedicated partnership between scientists and concerned citizens aimed at conquering neuromuscular disease that affect more than one million Americans.
Programs available through the Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia Chapter of MDA are funded almost entirely by individual and corporate contributions. The Association receives no government grants, United Way funds or fees from the people it serves or their families.
