Badcock Home Furniture & More started out as a family-owned company in 1904 in Mulberry, Fla., and still is a family-owned company and still headquartered in Mulberry.

Woagon Badcock first founded the company, which has now expanded across the Southeast into seven states, from Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina to Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi.

Brett Jones has been with the Badcock Home Furniture & More company for four years, two and a half of them at the local Cleveland store as its manager. He works with six other co-workers at the store near the corner of 25th and Keith Sts.: Pat Cass, assistant manager; Tabitha Beshears, sales associate; Chasity Wileman, sales associate; Shawn O’Hara, warehouse specialist; Kenny Ross, warehouse specialist; and Jerry Tocin, warehouse specialist.

“We thrive on customer service,” Jones said. Badcock Home Furniture and More continues to work with the customer, even after their order is delivered. “We’ll take care of our customers six months down the road and more. We will treat them right.”

And Badcock has a variety of furniture from which to choose. In fact, the showroom near 25th and Keith Sts. in Cleveland has 20,000 square feet full of furniture, and just about every other item for your home. The home furniture store offers more than 50 living room suites, 30 bedroom ensembles, and 30 dining room collections.

In addition, if you are unsure as to what styles or colors or design you want or need, don’t worry. Badcock has solved your decision-making dilemmas. Furniture styles, colors, even accessories and the correct chairs, tables and chests are grouped together in the best recommended combinations from which the customer can choose. Everything is put together right in individual displays.

Badcock also offers items other furniture stores may not. It also offers appliances, such as microwaves, refrigerators, stoves, freezers, washer/dryers, window air conditioners, weedeaters, law mowers and dishwashers, etc., in brand names like GE, Maytag and Frigidaire, electronics, such as Dells, LGs, Samsung and Phillips, and accessories, such as lamps, centerpieces, rugs, curio cabinets, consoles, etc.“We want our customers to have the best experience possible,” Jones said, “from the time they walk in the door to the time we deliver their furniture — and months in the future. We’re not finished with the customer once we deliver their items.”

For example, just this week, a service technician was sent out to repair a sofa. The tech wasn’t happy with it to his satisfaction.

“We ordered the customer a new sofa,” Jones said. And it doesn’t take them weeks to get it delivered. “We have a big distribution center in Cullman, Ala.”But Badcock doesn’t just offer a one-stop, home furnishing experience. Badcock also offers its customers easy financing on every item in the store, with a large variety of financing options.

“You never know when a washer is going to go out,” Jones said. At that point, long-term customers have come, picked out their new washer, and put it on their established account. Just come in and fill out some paperwork and in 10 minutes, your account can be established. Then, the next time you have an emergency or a special need, you can just walk into Badcock, select what you need and have it delivered. It’s as simple as that.

“And we thrive on fast delivery and friendly service,” Jones emphasized. If a customer orders something on a Wednesday, most customers can have their purchases delivered by Friday that same week.
