Flavis Joe Pierce, 80, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at his home.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He enjoyed fishing and gardening and was a big NASCAR fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Omas and Beulah Pierce; brother, Vaughn Pierce; and sister, Ressie Pierce Ledford.

Survivors include his wife, Chris Pierce, of Cleveland; daughter, Tammy Harris and husband, Mark, of Cleveland; son, Eddie Pierce and wife, Elizabeth; and special grandchild, Pierce Harris.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2012, in the chapel of Fike Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Passmore and Pastor Larry Coleman officiating.

Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
