Fort Loudoun State Park will begin accepting applications on Thursday for its upcoming Junior Ranger Camp. The camp will be held July 14-18 at the park and is open to ages 7 through 11.

Camp activities will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m. each day.

Participants will learn about the life of a soldier, the Cherokee, the Overhill traders, naturalists, women and children at the fort.

Fort Loudoun’s 2013 program was a great success with 30 participants learning what it takes to be a soldier in the army of King George II.

Participants learned the appropriate methods for employing the king’s arms in battle, what it takes to be a trader in the Overhills, and also had the opportunity to practice medicine.

Camp spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
