The Children’s Home-Chambliss Shelter is seeking foster parents within the community

As of September 2012, some 173 children and adolescents from Bradley County were in foster care due to abuse and/or neglect with only 37 percent able to reside in a foster home within their county.

When children are able to remain in their own county, it is one less change they endure and it is easier to provide visitation with their family.

The Children’s Home-Chambliss Shelter is a nonprofit organization that has been in the community for 140 years and has foster homes in several counties.

There continues to be a significant need for additional foster homes in Bradley and the surrounding counties. Individuals and/or couples are needed who can provide a nurturing, safe and stable place for these children and/or youth to live while a permanent home is located through reunification, kinship care, or adoption.
