This year the school chose two special ambassadors, who serve as shining examples of maintaining a pattern of health and exercise. Howard McClain and Sue Shoemaker are two Black Fox grandparents who have utilized the Fox Trot Greenway almost daily and have significantly improved their health and quality of life as a result.
For the Fox Trot Run, students gained sponsorship to help them earn prizes, and all the students then enjoyed a special time on the Fox Trot Greenway. This event raised over $5,000, which the school will use for improvement projects and classroom technology. Ethan McGuire was the top fundraiser, and teacher Jason Humberd's class had 100 percent participation.
The Black Fox Elementary Fox Trot Greenway was funded by Bradley County's Healthy Community Initiative, Bradley County Schools Coordinated School Health, SkyRidge Medical Center and other Black Fox community partners. It has been a great addition that is utilized by the school and members of the community every day.
