She was a member of Michigan Ave Baptist Church. She was an active member in Bridgemakers and enjoyed travel and gardening. She also was a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. She retired from Bradley Memorial Hospital as a nurse and was formerly employed at Sanda Hosiery Mill.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Norris; her son, Barry Dixon; parents, Willard and Mary Lou Jenkins Moore; and siblings: Gary Burris and Phyllis Cox.
Survivors include children: Peggy and Gary Norris of Cleveland, Steve and Joyce Dixon of Decatur and Chris and Mitchell Long of Charleston; grandchildren: Shelly Flowers, Chipper Norris, Rusty Norris, Matt Long, Jon Long and Zac Dixon; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A family memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family suggests that memorials be made to Michigan Ave. Baptist Church building fund or Habitat for Humanity.
