He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was self employed as a farmer. He was a loving husband.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Clayton Sr. and Hazel Pettit Clayton; and sister, Freda Clayton.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Peggy Clayton, of Cleveland; special nephew, Bo Collins and wife, Missy, of Cleveland; special great-niece, Kealey Collins of Cleveland; and special friend, Joe McCoy of Cleveland.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Evans officiating.
Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
