Gayla Sue Beavers, 47, a lifelong resident of this area, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at her home in Georgetown.

She was born in Cleveland on June 21, 1966, a daughter of the late Rev. Ray and Vola Crisp.

She was of the Baptist faith. She loved planning and going on vacations with her family to Daytona Beach, Fla. She also enjoyed cooking, trying her hand at gardening and her little dog Foster. Her favorite times however, were spent around the swimming pool with her family.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, John; son, Colton; daughter, Haylee; brothers: Bill Crisp (Kathy) and Roy Crisp; one sister, Beverly Alderman (Michael); mother and father-in-law, Julian and Sylvia Beavers; brother-in-law, Chris Beavers (Tracy); numerous other extended family members; and a host of special friends.

The family will receive friends at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church, located at 2415 Georgetown Road N.W., Monday, from 5 to 9 p.m.

A celebration of life is planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the church with the Revs. Steven Miller and Charles Armour officiating.

Interment will follow in the Beaty Cemetery and will conclude with a butterfly release.
