Gene Michael Correia Sr., 53, a resident of Etowah, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2014.
He was born on Aug. 27, 1960, in Trenton, N.J., a son of the late Joseph and Madeline Correia.
He owned his own garage door business. He was an avid sports fan and loved fishing and the great outdoors. He was of the Christian faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Correia; and several siblings.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory two daughters: Casey Mayo and her husband, Mitchell, of Cleveland and Colleen Bautista and her husband, Geovanny, of West Deptford, N.J.; one son, Gene Michael Correia Jr. and fiancé, Brandi Black, of Etowah; several grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Harned and husband, Danny, of Frisco City, Ala.; and numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
The family is planning a private family memorial service.
