Hollie German was named the NCCAA Mid-East Region Player of the Year on Saturday evening. The senior will move into the NCCAA National Tournament with 2,236 points, just 35 points short of the career scoring record currently held by Vikki Clemmons.

German was joined on the All-Region team by teammate Jenna Adams. Amy Philamlee and LaTesa McLaughlin (Union) were joined on the five-member squad by Tequila McNeal (Bluefield College). Rachel Lockhart was listed as a member of the All-Region second team. German, Adams and Lockhart were also named to the Mid-East Region All-Tournament team.

The Lady Flames will be the No. 1 seed in the NCCAA National Championship, which begins Wednesday at Grace College (Winona Lake, Ind.). In fact, Lee will face the host Grace team in the opening round on Wednesday at 4:15.

Union is the tournament's No. 2 seed. In fact, four former NAIA powerhouses that are in the transitional stage to NCAA Division II, will be represented in the eight-team field. If Lee survives the opener against Grace, they will likely be pitted against Oklahoma Christian, while Azusa Pacific is in the same bracket with Union.

"It is a very strong field and certainly a tournament that our deserving young ladies would love to bring Lee's third NCCAA women's national basketball championship back to Cleveland," said coach Marty Rowe. "We will depart Cleveland on Monday morning and the banquet is planned for Tuesday evening."

The NCCAA will have live video and live stats available for each game. Links for those are the following – Video (for purchase from Tourbeau Sports Group): http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/tourbeau.portal
