Gospel October Fest planned for Oct. 20

Charleston — Green’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America will hold a Gospel October Fest Oct. 20 in the Charleston City Park.

Activities will begin at 4 p.m.

The event will bringing together gospel music veterans and exciting newcomers to the Charleston stage.

The Fest promises a multi-dimensional experience of worship, fellowship, food and fun.

People of all ages and races are invited to experience gospel music in an outdoor, community picnic-style setting, to explore the dynamism among gospel art forms, genres and cultures.

Gospel October Fest will feature perforances by some of the local area’s gospel music talent. The outreach initiative will assemble some of the area’s renowned church choirs, gospel quartets, praise teams and mime ministries.

The event's goal is to bring the Bradley, McMinn and Hamilton counties together for a time of spirited worship and unity with free food and other forms of entertainment, according to event sponsors.

It also will be a time to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the Men of Praise, Green’s Chapel’s gospel sextet.
