He was born on Dec. 4, 1938, in North Plainfield, N.J. He prided himself on the athletics he played in his youth and was an avid golfer and loved basketball. In 1968, he earned his Ph.D. in chemistry at Seaton Hall University.
He retired from Lear Corp. in 2001, as the manager of research and development of the automotive division.
He and his wife returned to Cleveland for his retirement, during which he enjoyed his loves of fishing and wood working. He continued to take on new hobbies, including raising chickens and became a master gardener.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ronald C. Wolf.
He is remembered and loved by his surviving wife, Mary Jo Wolf, of Cleveland; five children: daughter Sandra A. (James) Pardington of West Bloomfield, Mich., daughter Linda L. Wolf of West Bloomfield, Mich., son Kenneth A. (Kristy) Wolf of Chesterfield, Mich., daughter Wendy M. (Salvatore) DiGennaro of Huntsville, Ala., and son Thomas P.
