Harry S. Truman CluB members donated $1,000 to the Polk County Friends of the Library in memory of the late Deryl Curbow Friday afternoon at Elks Club Lodge 1944 in Cleveland. Curbow served three terms as Polk County Circuit Court clerk. She was the first woman elected to that office. Also, she was an Executive Committee Woman of the Democratic Party. She loved children and was an early supporter of the effort to establish a library in Polk County. The Polk County Friends of the Library recently purchased the Benton Family Health Building to house the West Polk County Library. The donation will be used for renovations. The new location is expected to open in April 2013.
